PRIVACY POLICY
TYPING TERROR
The short version: Typing Terror does not ask for your name, email or any account details, and we do not collect personal data. The only thing you type is a made-up callsign for the leaderboard.
What we collect
Typing Terror is a free browser game. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no forms asking for personal information. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, location or payment details.
Your callsign and score
To play, you choose a callsign (up to 8 letters or numbers). When a game ends, your callsign, final score and kill count are sent to our leaderboard service so they can appear on the global high score table. Please do not use your real name or any personal information as a callsign. Anything you enter there is shown publicly on the leaderboard.
Your best scores are also saved in your browser's local storage so your own scores can be shown on your device. This stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Cloudflare
This site is served through Cloudflare, and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall traffic and page performance, such as the number of visits and how fast pages load. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to be privacy-first: it does not use cookies or local storage for analytics and does not track individual visitors across sites. Our leaderboard service also runs on Cloudflare. You can read more in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Google AdSense and advertising
We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads that help keep the game free. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. This data is collected and handled by Google, not by us.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Where required by law, such as in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, visitors are asked for consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used.
Cookies
Typing Terror itself does not set cookies. Cookies may be set by Google AdSense and its partners for advertising, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The game will still work, but ads may be less relevant to you.
Sharing buttons
The share buttons (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and X) are plain links and do not load any third-party code on this page. Nothing is sent to those services unless you click a button. If you do, you will be taken to that service, which is governed by its own privacy policy. For TikTok and Instagram, the button copies the game link so you can paste it into a post.
Children
Typing Terror does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a callsign on the leaderboard contains personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
